What can I expect the weather to be like while I'm there?
In this part of Alberta, we like to say "If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes."   Having rain, wind, snow and sunshine all in one day isn't unheard of in this part of the province.  It doesn't happen every day but you should be prepared for quick changes. This means layers and raingear.   During the summer months of July and August, late afternoon thunderstorms blow through  affording an excellent evening of dry fly possibilities. Daytime highs will average 22-30 degrees Celsius (75 to 90 degrees F) and late evenings into the 10-12 degree Celsius range ( 50-55 degree F).

Since it seems being a weather forecaster is the only job you can be wrong so often and still keep your job we like to compare a number of websites before making our own prediction.  Check out:

 When is Spring runoff?
Typically around the 25th of May and lasting through most of June is high water season for the Bow. We do not typically book any trips for clients coming from a long distance during this time period as the river is quite muddy and high from the snow melt and June rains.

What level is the stream flow on the river?
The following site let's you see the stream flow for the Bow River at Calgary or at Carseland. Choose the Bow River Basin and
then follow the prompts.
